WHITTINGTON CASTLE

£125.00

Limited edition Screen Print on Somerset 300gsm paper

Edition of 30

Unframed (paper) size: Height 56 cm x 38 cm

Whittington Castle, near Oswestry, Shropshire lies on the English side of Offa's Dyke near the border of England and Wales.

This image of the 13th Century castle ruins is of the back of the castle and moat when I visited in wintertime. This offers a picturesque view of reflections in the moat in contrast with the ruins and modern footbridge. This impressive castle features large gatehouse towers and within the Inner Bailey are remains of a great hall, stone keep, castle well, and a dovecote. In the 14th Century the Outer Bailey had been two elaborate gardens surrounded by water.

A real gem of a place to visit.

I have handprinted this three separate colour layer screen print and it is one of a limited edition of 30 prints.
